Taught Subjects

Our large body of staff offer teaching at beginner, intermediary and advanced levels. The curriculum includes general subjects, as well as several more unusual choices, to help develop the talents, interests and personality of each girl. Classes are generally small, allowing for individual attention and arrangements can be made for remedial lessons. Modern facilities are available for Physical Training, Science, Geography, Art and Domestic Science. A wide range of musical teaching is available and special timetables can be arranged for those with talent.

Below you will find comments from some of our teaching staff.

Miss Kathie Ferrars - Inter V Form Mistress As Inter V form mistress I am involved in both the teaching and mentoring of the girls in my form. As a mistress, the girls will see me in English, Geography and Maths. I also provide some extra coaching for those who need it. Outside of classes, my form are encouraged to come to me, in confidence, with any problems they may be having. Contact with the girls outside of school hours is also a feature teaching at the Chalet School and I myself help with Lacrosse training and head outings.

Mr Tristan Denny - Choir & Violin Master I have been the singing master of the school almost since it's inception and during that time I have met many talented girls. Choir is a compulsory subject and the school and it is my job to teach the girls, above all else, how to appreciate music. I do this through a variety of ways including instruction in sight-reading, musical theory and voice exercises. Extra lessons are available for those interested in the violin. I will only teach those who are willing to learn.
